Farm Credit Strawberry Salute Breakfast Celebrates Plant City Strawberry Industry
PLANT CITY, Fla. (March 5, 2017) The 2018 Farm Credit Strawberry Salute Breakfast was hosted on March 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Plant City.
The breakfast drew a crowd of over 250 including local dignitaries to be honored at the Strawberry festival parade, local and state government officials, members of the Plant City strawberry industry and supporters. Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam was the keynote speaker, and voiced his unwavering support for the industry.
Putnam addressed key issues affecting the strawberry industry including the school lunch program, trade, labor and natural disasters.
The breakfast is a tradition spanning over 40 years and stands as a celebration and salute to those involved in the strawberry industry.
